After beating league champions Tusker 1-0 to lift the Kenyan Premier League Super Cup on Sunday, Gor Mahia coach Marcelo Ferreira is now all bullish about the new season and what K’Ogalo will be aiming for.

The Brazilian told kpl.co.ke that he is angling not only to regain the league title that they lost to Tusker last season, but to also win every other domestic title that is up for grabs in the season.

“We have fulfilled our first objective this year, which was to win the Super Cup. We want to win every title that is on offer this year. Even though the rewards for this particular win are small compared to the competitions that we are about to face when the season begins, it is a good start for the team.

“What impresses me the most is that we have beaten Tusker yet last year we were unable to overcome them in the two league matches. The team played very well and that is very encouraging as we prepare for the new season,” he said.

K’Ogalo were propelled to victory on Sunday by a second half penalty converted by assistant captain Jacques Tuyisenge, and this helped them to their fourth Super Cup title in history.

The 15-time champions missed all their targets last season.

They will face newly promoted Kariobangi Sharks in their opening league match this weekend.

Gor’s technical bench has been fortified by the return of coach Zedekiah Otieno as Ferreira’s assistant.
