The SportsPesa Premier League match between Muhoroni Youth and Kariobangi Sharks will be held at Muhoroni Stadium on Sunday as originally scheduled.

The Kenyan Premier League has taken note of the request by Football Kenya Federation through their General Secretary Robert Muthomi to postpone the fixture over safety concerns raised by the federation for the visiting team, and communicated to the home team the need to provide adequate security.

“Muhoroni Youth registered Muhoroni Grounds as their home ground and the Stadia, Safety & Security Committee (SSSC) inspected and approved it to host matches. Further, given the delayed start of the league, the dearth of stadia and the expansion of the size of league, the postponement of this match will severely throw our management of match fixtures off balance,” said KPL Chief Executive Officer Jack Oguda in a letter to the federation.

Oguda said the League had brought the concerns of the federation to Muhoroni Youth and instructed them “to make adequate security arrangements for this match in accordance with Rule 3.5 on Match Arrangements of the Rules Governing Kenyan Football.”
