Unbeaten Ulinzi Stars drew 1-1 with Western Stima on Wednesday afternoon in their catch-up match played at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.

Stima’s new signing Ray Murugi scored the first goal of the match in the 33rd minute.

Murugi, who joined Stima this January, rounded off goalkeeper James Saruni to shake the net and open his account for the season.

The soldiers provided instant response with veteran Stephen Waruru heading in a long cross from in form midfielder Samuel Onyango.

It was a loud statement from the former league top scorer Waruru – a proven goal getter – who came off the bench to score in Ulinzi’s 1-1 draw against Tusker last weekend.

Stima will face Nzoia Sugar United in their next fixture this weekend while Ulinzi will play against Mathare United.
