New comers Kariobangi Sharks continued to surge when they came from behind to beat big boys Mathare United 2-1 at Kenyatta Stadium on Tuesday to notch up their second successive win and fifth in seven matches.

Mathare United surrendered a one goal lead to yet again suffer another heartbreak after Friday’s 1-0 loss to Bandari.

Chrispinus Oduor put Mathare ahead on the 28th minute when he connected with Martin Ongori’s cross from the right to push the ball past Sharks goalkeeper Jeff Oyemba.

Bolton Omwenga restored parity in the 65th minute. The alert Omwenga received a good cross from Taya Odongo to just squeeze it past Mathare custodian Levis Opiyo, who agonizingly got a touch on it.

Sharks could have doubled their score eight minutes after the restart, but Pascal Ogweno squandered a penalty for the league rookies shooting wide.

The Premier League debutants, whoever, duly got their winning goal in the 77th minute through Masoud Juma who made the most of a rebound that had ricocheted off the cross bar.

The result extended Sharks unbeaten run to four matches while condemning Mathare to their second loss in a row.
