AFC Leopards ended their two-match winless and scoreless run with a big win against bogey side Tusker at Nyayo Stadium on Thursday.

Forward Samuel Ndung’u made most of the spade work by Vincent Oburu deep in the second half to beat Tusker goalkeeper Duncan Ochieng with panache.

The brewers were forced to play with 10 men midway through the second half when Marlon Tangauzi was sent off after a second yellow card.

This was the first time Leopards were beating the brewers since 2014 and the second time in over a decade in a Premier League match.

Ingwe were also recording their second league win this season in their last 14 matches, a trying period that has seen them change coaches twice.

Their coach of the moment Robert Matano said: “I am more excited with the way my players handled this game against a very strong and experienced opponent. We next prepare for Gor.”

Leopards, will understandably feel some measure of confidence ahead of the famous Mashemeji Derby against arch rivals Gor Mahia on Sunday at Nyayo Stadium, Nairobi.

Gor, needless to say, are enjoying good form and are comfortably perched atop the league table.
