Kakamega Homeboyz and Tusker FC posted identical 2-1 wins over Vihiga United and Nzoia Sugar FC in some of the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) matches played across different venues on Saturday 24th February.

Kakamega Homeboyz 2-1 Vihiga United

In an entertaining match played at the Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega Homeboyz beat Vihiga United 2-with former Tusker FC forward Noah Wafula grabbing a brace in the 2nd and 44th minute. Dennis Wafula scored Vihiga’s lone goal in the 73rd minute.

Tusker FC 2-1 Nzoia Sugar FC

A much improved Tusker FC beat visiting Nzoia Sugar FC in a match played at the Ruaraka Stadium. Boniface Muchiri opened the scoring for the Brewers in the 7th minute, heading in a Timothy Otieno cross but Vihiga responded in style, Elvis Rupia driving in a hard shot past the outstretching Duncan Ochieng, the Tusker FC custodian, in the 14th minute. Timothy Otieno got one of his own in the 29th minute, this time the assist coming from Muchiri.

“We are a work on progress and we will get better. Tusker dominated the first half but we made some tactical changes in the second half and we did well. We however need to score goals and this is a problem as a coach I am working on. We only need patience from the fans and management and with time things will be better,”
