Kariobangi Sharks and Nakumatt played to a barren draw while Zoo FC rallied to hold AFC Leopards to a 2-2 draw in entertaining matches played at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday 14th April.

Kariobangi Sharks 0-0 Nakumatt FC

Kariobangi Sharks and Nakumatt FC played to a barren draw in the first match that kicked off at 2PM.

Sharks had youngster Ovella Ochieng starting his first match of the season and were the better side in the opening minutes. Harrison Mwendwa’s hard shot from the edge of the box was parried away to safety by Nakumatt FC custodian Lucas Indeche in the 22nd minute. Just two minutes later Sharks had a scare as Bolton Omwenga almost scored into his own net in an attempt to clear danger.

Sharks forward Erick Kapaito wasted a clear goal scoring opportunity at the half hour mark after Donald Mosoti missed the ball just outside the boxing, the striker finding himself one on one with Indeche but his weak shot was cleared off the line.

Meshack Karani then had a chance to put Nakumatt ahead in the 35th minute after a good cut back pass from Timonah Wanyonyi but the former placed his shot too wide with only the goalkeeper to beat.

Second half

Sharks pulled out Ovella for Francis Manoah while Nakumatt brought in Boniface Mukheke for Wanyonyi in an attempt to improve their finishing.

Both sides however continued to be wasteful upfront with last real chance coming in for Nakumatt in the 85th minute. Former Gor Mahia midfielder Moses Odhiambo found John Njoroge with a good pass but the left back shot just inches wide.

AFC Leopards 2-2 Zoo FC

Zoo FC worked really hard to ensure they go back to Kericho with a point, coming from behind twice to share spoils with AFC Leopards in an entertaining match played at the same venue.

Zoo FC suffered a setback in the 2nd minute as goalkeeper Vincent Misikhu was injured and had to be replaced by Samwel Koko.

Ingwe captain Duncan Otieno placed his hard shot wide in the 10th minute as Ingwe continued to pile on the pressure. Their opening goal came in the 25th minute, Ezekiel Odera scoring from the spot after Koko fouled Marita in the box.

Nicholas Kipkirui equalized for Zoo in the 31st minute his low shot going past Jairus Adira. Odera hit the woodwork with a powerful header in the 40th minute while Zoo responded with a quick counter that ended with Madoya hitting the upright with a hard shot.

Second half

Whyvonne Isuza made it 2-1 with a good shot from the edge of the box in the 77th  minute and they held on to it until the 88th minute when Zoo captain Johnstone Ligare headed in to equalize from a setpiece.
