Sony Sugar vs Kakamega Homeboyz – Awendo

16th-placed Sony Sugar FC will be without midfielder Victor Ademba, who is suspended after accumulating five yellow cards, when they take on Kakamega Homeboyz at the Green Stadium in Awendo.

Sony has not picked a win in their last five fixtures and will be hoping for a turn around at their home turf. Patrick Odhiambo, who replaced Salim Babu as the club’s head coach recently, says the target is to help the club finish in a respectable position.

“We are not in a good position at the moment and the immediate target is to win our match against Homeboyz and keep fighting for positive results in the upcoming matches. I hope to guide the team into a respectable finish in the log at the end of the season and build on that next season.” – Patrick Odhiambo, Sony Sugar Head Coach

Chemelil Sugar vs AFC Leopards – Moi Stadium, Kisumu

Chemelil Sugar FC will host AFC Leopards at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu in what will be Rodolfo Zapata’s first league match in charge of Ingwe. Zapata, who comes in from Gaberone United in Botswana to replace the outgoing Dennis Kitambi, knows too well what is expected of him and will be looking to get the team back to its winning ways.

Chemelil too have had their fair share of challenges this season but have put in considerable good performances so far. They lost to Ulinzi however in their last league encounter and will be looking to bounce back.

Nzoia Sugar vs Ulinzi Stars – Sudi

Free-scoring Nzoia Sugar FC will host fourth-placed Ulinzi Stars at Sudi. All eyes will be on two men, Masita Masuta, who will be making a comeback at Sudi after ditching Nzoia for the Army Men and Elvis Rupia, who is the current leading scorer with 11 goals for Nzoia so far.

Both teams have scored 16 goals each so far this season. Nzoia will be without Brian Otieno who is suspended after he received his marching orders in their previous match against Ulinzi Stars.

Bandari vs Tusker – Mbaraki

Experienced coach Robert Matano has won two of his two assignments since he returned to Tusker and he will be hoping to carry on the form when the Brewers travel to Mombasa to face third-placed Bandari at Mbaraki. The Dockers edged Nakumatt in their last league encounter and will be hoping to maintain the performance, especially at home.

Wazito FC on the other hand are tenth on the log and  come into this fixture with renewed confidence having beaten Sofapaka in their last match heading into this encounter.

Kariobangi Sharks vs Mathare United – 4:15PM

Dubbed the Slum Derby, Sharks and Mathare United will battle it out in arguably the fixture of the weekend. Fixtures between the two sides have always been fiercely contested. Zoo FC have recovered from their faulty start to the season with a recommendable improvement in the month of April that saw them climb to fourteenth in the log from the bottom. They now face a struggling Nakumatt FC at the Green Stadium in Kericho. Nakumatt, who recently got acquired and are under new management, have lost the most number of matches in the league so far, eight and also conceded the most number of goals, 25. Reigning KPL MVP Mike Madoya has rediscovered his form and is the second leading scorer currently with seven goals. He is expected to lead the onslaught for Zoo.

Vihiga United have only managed two wins so far this season and are thirteenth on the log. Coach Francis Manoah opines that the team took long to settle into the top-flight after promotion from the second-tier but they are now good to go.
