Kakamega Homeboyz and Sony Sugar registered away wins over Tusker FC and Chemelil Sugar respectively in the only league matches played on Saturday 26th May.
Tusker FC 0-2 Kakamega Homeboyz
Eston Esiye scored a delightful free-kick to give Kakamega Homeboyz the lead heading into the breather while Allan Wanga finished off the job with a powerful header minutes to stoppage time to condemn his former employers to their third consecutive loss.
“With the kind of players in the team currently we can’t win any title. There’s no character and discipline in the team, we can win a match or two if we are lucky but not a title. We don’t have any special players that can rise to the occasion and make a difference for the team and I will definitely make several changes during the midseason transfer window.” – Tusker FC Head Coach, Robert Matano
“I am very happy with the win – our strategy and tactics worked. Before the match I told the lads to ensure to go all out and attack in the oppenents half, since the pitch is in poor condition and it would have been disastrous for us to try and build from our own half. I also knew Tusker would be under pressure and hence easily crack, and that is what happened.” – Chemelil Sugar FC Head Coach, Mike Mururi
Chemelil Sugar 0-1 Sony Sugar
At the Chemelil Complex, Stephen Ouma scored a stoppage time winner as Sony beat home side Chemelil Sugar by a solitary goal.
