Nakumatt FC and AFC Leopards beat Mathare United and Thika United respectively in the only win registered in Saturday 18th August Round 27 SportPesa Premier League matches.

Mathare United 0-4 Nakumatt 

Nakumatt’s rise continued with an emphatic 4-0 win over Mathare United in an early kick off match played at the Camp Toyoyo.

Highly-rated youngster Joseph Waithira grabbed a brace, Kevin Thairu a goal while second-half substitute John Avire scored from the spot to ensure Nakumatt pick the maximum points.

“We played poorly today and we didn’t deserve any points. We made it difficult for ourselves by allowing a very easy first goal and from then on we just switched off completely.” – Mathare United Head Coach, Francis Kimanzi 

AFC Leopards 2-0 Thika United 

Thika United bad run continued as they succumbed to a 0-2 nil to AFC Leopards in a match played at the Thika Sub County Stadium. After a goalless first half, Nigerian International opened the scoring for Ingwe with a well taken volley after a cross from the hardworking Brian Marita. Ezekiel Odera doubled the lead just two minutes later with a powerful header, Brian Marita once again providing the assist.

Nzoia Sugar FC 2-2 Sofapaka

Nzoia Sugar FC and Sofapaka played to a 2-2 draw in an entertaining match played at Sudi. Mike Oduor opened the scoring for Sofapaka at the quarter hour mark but Collins Wakhungu leveled matters just four minutes later. Patrick Kwitonda put Nzoia ahead in the 22nd minute and they held on to the lead until the 66th minute when Stephen Waruru equalized for Sofapaka.
