Three matches were played across different venues on Sunday 24th February but it is Sony Sugar’s 4-0 drubbing of Western Stima that was the highlight of the day.

Sony Sugar 4-0 Western Stima

Sony Sugar registered the biggest win of the weekend by thrashing Western Stima 4-0 in a one-sided match played at the Green Stadium in Awendo. Musotsi Wesonga opened the scoring in the 18th minute and Derick Otanga doubled the lead in the 28th minute. Robert Mudenyu scored just before the break to ensure Sony Sugar head into the breather leading 3-0. Ambrose Ayoyi finished the job with a fine strike to ensure the home side register the maximum points.

Mt Kenya United 1-0 Zoo FC

Joseph Wanyonyi’s strike was enough to ensure Mt Kenya United pick three crucial points against Zoo FC and escape the relegation zone. They are now 16th on the log with 12 points from 15 matches while Zoo FC is fifteenth with 12 points from the same number of matches but a greater goal difference.

Vihiga United 1-1 Kariobangi Sharks

At the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega, Duke Abuya scored a late free kick to salvage a point for Kariobangi Sharks. Alex Imbusia had given Vihiga United a first-half lead.
