SportPesa Premier League clubs were involved in several friendly matches over the weekend as they continued to build up for the new season. Action was fast and furious, and the goals too.

Newly promoted Kariobangi Sharks mauled traditional powerhouses AFC Leopards 3-2 in an exciting encounter at Moi International Sports Centre in Nairobi.

Former Sony Sugar attacked Masoud Juma claimed a brace for Sharks while Salim Abdalla hit back for Leopards in the first half. Ghanaian man Gilbert Flamenyo restored parity to the match earlier on in the second half before up and coming talent Ovella Ochieng pocked in the winner for the incoming league boys.

At the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Kampala, record league winners Gor Mahia were humbled 2-0 by Ugandan Premier League side Onduparaka. Kablon Living was the destroyer in chief for the hosts with his two strikes either side of the break.

Premier League champions Tusker battled to a 2-2 draw in high profile encounter in Nakuru. The brewers came from behind twice, Loyd Wahome cancelling out Baron Oketch’s early penalty strike before goal-getter Allan Wanga rescued the game for the brewers late, late on after Enosh Ochieng had added the second for the Kenya Defence Forces side.

This was a good warm for the two Kenyan giants who will be in continental action this weekend.

Tusker are Kenya’s representatives in the CAF Champions League while Ulinzi will play in the Confederation Cup.
