Kenya’s representatives to the Confederation Cup, Ulinzi Stars, were on Friday beaten 1-0 by Libya’s Al Hilal Benghazi in their preliminary round, first leg match.

The Kenya Defence Forces side fell to second half strike from Ahmed Abar that left them with the big hurdle of needing to beat the Libyan outfit by two clear goal in the return match in Kenya two weeks from today in order to advance to the next round.

The soldiers will take solace in the fact that their top striker John Mark Makwatta, who failed to travel to Cairo over documentation issues, will be available for the return match.

Ulinzi Stars are expected back in Kenya on Sunday.
