Tusker FC and Posta Rangers played to a barren draw in one of the Round Two Kenyan Premier League (KPL) matches played on Sunday 11th February across different venues.  The match was fast paced from the onset with both sides eager to pull the first trigger. Luke Ochieng could have handed Posta Rangers the opening goal but his powerful free header went just inches wide in the 18th minute.

From then on the match was a fairly balanced affair until the 42nd minute when Gearson Likono forced Tusker FC custodian Duncan Ochieng into a fine save with his in-swinging free-kick from just outside the box. Amos Asembeka’s hard shot just after the restart went wide as Tusker the second half strongly. Posta pulled out the jaded Gearson Likono just minutes later, introducing former Sharks striker Cavin Odongo in his place.

Changes

John Nairuka hard shot at the hours mark went inches wide as both teams upped the tempo in search of the elusive goal. Posta brought in the experienced Jerry Santo in place of Luis Tera while Tusker brought in John Macharia for Amos Asembeka and Boniface Muchiri for Edwin Lavatsa. Posta made the final sub bringing in Simon Mbugua for Nairuka but these changes had no impact on the final result of the match as it ended 0-0.

 Mathare United 2-1  Nzoia

George Mutimba had put Nzoia the lead at the half hours mark and they maintained it until the 77th minute when Chrispine Oduor equalised for the Slum Boys.
