Three matches were played on Sunday 1st July with Kakamega Homeboyz registering the biggest win of the day by beating AFC Leopards 3-0 at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega. At the Thika Sub County Stadium, Ulinzi Stars beat hosts Thika United 2-0 while at the Camp Toyoyo visiting Zoo FC from Kericho went down by a solitary goal to Posta Rangers.

Kakamega Homeboyz 3-0 AFC Leopards 

Allan Wanga inspired Kakamega Homeboyz with a brace with Ali Bai scoring the final goal to seal an important win for the hosts in what turned out to be a terrific match at the Bukhungu Stadium.

Wanga opened the scoring three minutes to the break, rising high to head Eston Esiye’s cross past AFC Leopards custodian Ezekiel Owade. AFC Leopards resumed the second half the better side and showing intent to equalize and dominate the game. They controlled the proceedings and attacked Homeboyz who however defended resolutely.

AFC Leopards were caught on the counter in the 67th minute, Wanga racing from the center of the pitch to fire in the second past Owade. Minutes later Whyvonne Isuza thought he had pulled one back for Ingwe but it was ruled out as offside. AFC Leopards fans couldn’t take no for an answer as they stormed the pitch in protest and play had to be stopped for nearly an hour to calm things down. Play resumed and Ali Bai sealed the win for the hosts with a well taken goal.

Thika United 0-2 Ulinzi Stars 

Ulinzi Stars went back to winning ways with a deserved 2-0 win over Thika United. Former Mathare Youth midfielder Elvis Nandwa opened the scoring in the 2nd minute. Thika United custodian Eliud Emase had stepped away from goal and the inform Nandwa quickly lobbed the ball past him for the opener.

Former FISA Academy striker Omari Boraafya was troubling the Thika United defenders with his pace and he was fouled just outside the box. Daniel Waweru took the resultant freekick and Nandwa headed it in for his seventh goal of the season.

Posta Rangers 1-0 Zoo FC 

A 72nd minute header by veteran striker Dennis Mukaisi was all Posta Rangers needed to beat Zoo FC 1-0 in a match played at the Camp Toyoyo in Jericho.
