Struggling former giants AFC Leopards have acquired exciting Uganda Cranes midfielder Keziron Kizito.

Kizito, formerly of Ugandan club Vipers, has agreed to a two-year contract with Leopards and is expected to join up with his new team-mates in Nairobi next week.

The 19-year old had earlier expressed interest in joining Tusker at the beginning of May.

AFC Leopards chairman Dan Mule revealed to kpl.co.ke that they are targeting four more experienced players in the June transfer window that opens on Thursday.

“The only thing that remains for now is to register him with the Kenyan Premier League Limited. Otherwise we have agreed on all terms and he has even signed a contract.

“In the next three weeks we shall be very busy because we have to revive the team and help the coaches achieve good results. We want to bring in more experienced players because experience has been severely lacking in our squad this season.

“The areas we want to reinforce are goalkeeping and midfield and maybe get one good defender. Once we have good players in these positions then we will be okay,” Mule said.

Ingwe have endured a torrid eight weeks without victory, and have plunged from first position to 12th, losing five matches and drawing two.

Leopards recruited 11 players in the December-January transfer, many of them with little or no Premiership experience. The young talent started the season with a bang but their inexperience began to show as the season progressed and have now gone seven straight matches without a win.

Kizito, who was acquired as free agent, becomes Ingwe’s latest signing after the reported arrival of Burundian Alexis Kitenge on Friday.
