Tusker beat Nakumatt 1-0 at Ruaraka in the only fixture on Wednesday to record back-to-back wins for the first time since May 27.

Substitute Boniface Muchiri accounted for the only goal of the game midway through the second half with a well struck effort. Internationals Allan Wanga and Humphrey Mieno came close for the brewers in this match that they dominated.

The victory comes just days after Tusker crushed Muhoroni Youth 4-0 and marked the first successive win for the brewers since their seven-match winning streak was snapped by Sharks in a drawn result on June 18.

Tusker’s resurgence sees them climb up the league table to a more familiar third position. But the defending champions will be well aware they have – short of a miracle – relinquished the title as runaway league leaders Gor Mahia just need a draw from their remaining matches to be guaranteed the 2017 crown.
