Champions in waiting Gor Mahia drew with Zoo Kericho as Leopards, Tusker and Mathare won to ease their relegation worries while outgoing champions Tusker lost in Sunday’s matches.

AFC Leopards 1-0 Nakumatt (Kasarani)

Experienced Andrew Tololwa scored in the 11th minute when he deflected home a free kick delivered by team captain Duncan Otieno as Leopards returned to winning ways.

Nakumatt’s Golden Boot chasing Kepha Aswani, and end of season target of his former club AFC Leopards never really got a sniff at goal in this match.

The result saw Ingwe climb to 12th place on the Sportpesa Premier League table that assured them of safety in the top flight competition.

Bandari 0-0 Posta Rangers (Mbaraki)

Bandari had beaten Muhoroni Youth 6-2 in their previous assignment and they began quite strongly, but could only manage a few long range efforts from Darius Msagha as goals proved a mirage.

Rangers showed enterprise in the 25th minutes when Baron Oketch sent a long cross towards Michael Apudo, but his header went straight at Rangers goalkeeper Patrick Matasi.

Sony Sugar 1-0 Sofapaka (Awendo)

Congolese striker Mwana Yema returned to the score sheets after close to two months with the all-important goal in the first half. Credit for the assist goes to long serving Sony forward Victor Ademba.

With this result, Sony Sugar made a late entry into the fight for the a top 10 league spot as Sofapaka dropped to fourth place on the log with two games left to play.

Tusker 0-1 Thika United (Ruaraka)

Eugene Mukangula struck in the 37th minute after a nice combination with Shami Kibwana.

The result was a big boost for Thika in the relegation fight, as they now require just three points from their remaining two games to survive the drop.

Western Stima 2-2 Ulinzi Stars (Kisumu)

Western Stima were first to score via former Ulinzi Stars forward Ezekiel Otuoma off Hubert Kopany’s pass.

The soldiers responded appropriately at the half hour mark through Cliff Kasuti who converted Omar Mbongi’s cross.

It was Ulinzi’s time to enjoy the lead in in the 43rd minute when midfielder Churchill Muloma picked up a neat delivery from Samuel Onyango and smashed home catching Stima custodian Samuel Onyango unawares.

Stima were back in the game in the 77th minute when Ugandan import Robert Achema got on the end of an Ezekiel Otuoma through ball.

Zoo Kericho 1-1 Gor Mahia (Afraha)

Golden Boot aspirant Meddie Kagere did his course plenty of good with a powerful shot past Zoo goalkeeper Vincent Misikhu to break the deadlock midway through the first half.

The hosts however replied 10 minutes later when second half replacement Kepha Ondati shot from six yards out following a goalmouth melee to grab his third goal of the season.

Mathare United 1-0 Nzoia Sugar (Kasarani)

Mathare went ahead in the 15th minute through former Tusker midfielder Samuel Olwande’s penalty kick given after Nzoia’s Festus Okiring had elbowed Cliff Nyakeya inside the box.

Relegation fighting Mathare desperately needed this win to help them survive and you could see the relief of the players at the final whistle.
