The Mashemeji Derby set to be played on Sunday 19th May at the Moi International Sports Center in Kasarani will be the highlight of Round 31 action in the SportPesa Premier League.

The match will kick off at 4:15 PM and will be live on KTN News and our Official Facebook Page.

Oktay comments

Gor Mahia Head Coach Hassan Oktay says his team has prepared well and is ready for the game.

“The preparations have been very good ahead of the game. The lads are in good shape and I’m optimistic we shall have a good game,” Oktay said,

“I know AFC Leopards recruited well during the mid-season and they have a good team but this is a derby and we are going to fight for the three points.” He concluded.

Andre Casa Mbungo comments

Andre Casa Mbungo, the AFC Leopard coach, on his end also anticipates a tough match but says his team is ready to fight for the bragging rights.

“Gor Mahia has done better this season and I think they will win the league but we don’t want this particular game to be the one that gives them the title. This is a derby and the 90 minutes will be what determines the winner,” Andre said,

“We have prepared very well although we have a few injury concerns. I hope to have a full squad by Sunday. We are ready to battle for the bragging rights and the three points as well but the most important thing for me now that the season is almost over is to plan for the next season by recruiting wisely and building a team that can challenge for the title.” He added.
