Gor Mahia beat AFC Leopards 3-1 in an entertaining Mashemeji Derby match played at the Moi International Stadium in Kasarani on Sunday 19th May. This was one of the five matches played to mark the end of Round 31 action in the SportPesa Premier League. 

AFC Leopards 1-3 Gor Mahia 

Nicholas Kipkirui opened the scoring in the 24th minute, tapping in after Ezekiel Owade parried Jacques Tuyisenge’s header on his path. Kipkirui doubled the lead at the hours’ mark, slotting past Owade after Kenneth Muguna did well to steal the ball away from Said Tsuma to release a killer pass Kipkirui who did well to score. Just two minutes later, Jacques Tuyisenge made it 3-0, heading in after Kipkirui’s header hit the past and fell on his path. AFC Leopards pulled one back four minutes to stoppage time, Vincent Oburu doing well to intercept a Joash Onyango back pass to slot past Fredrick Odhiambo.

Bandari 3-0 Zoo FC 

Bandari beat Zoo FC 3-0 at the Mbaraki Sports Club courtesy of a brace by William Wadri and a goal by Shaban Kenga.

Vihiga United 1-2 Tusker FC 

Tusker FC beat Vihiga United 2-1 at the Mumias Sports Complex. David Majak opened the scoring in the 3rd minute and Boniface Muchiri doubled the lead in the 28th minute. Amos Kigadi got a consolation for Vihiga in the 78th minute.

Chemelil Sugar 0-0 Ulinzi Stars 

At the Chemelil Complex, Chemelil Sugar FC and Ulinzi Stars played to a barren draw. After the result, Chemelil are 15th on the log with 30 points from 15 matches while Ulinzi Stars are ninth with 40 points having played the same number of matches.

Western Stima 0-0 Mathare United 

At the Moi Stadium in Kisumu, Western Stima and Mathare also played to a scoreless draw.
